Square containers store up to 25-Percent more on a shelf than round containers in the same space. The Break-resistant clear polycarbonate material is used for visibility and long life. The container has smooth surfaces for easy cleaning and is Dishwasher safe. There are Precise measurement gradations in red/blue for easy reading and the containers nest for easy storage. The Temperature range is -40-Dergee F/-26-Dergee C to 212-Dergee F/100-Dergee C. This is made of FDA compliant materials and is certified to NSF Std. 2.

Much to my chagrin, there were no lids. When I returned to the site and read the product description closely, it did state that lids are ordered separately. I contacted customer service and had my 6 lids in a matter of days. The product description should emphasize that lids are not included so people are aware of it. The kitchen where I volunteer obviously uses these big food service containers - cos it's food service! Anyway, I've had large container envy for a while and after reading about how to cold brew iced coffee (a process that involves two of these containers), I was sold. So, they are great for cold brew coffee - but I am using them for so much more! I don't have a lot of cabinet space, but I do have a basement. So until I need them, they live on the work bench down there. I used them this week while I was canning 30 lbs of tomatoes (First time trying - not too much of a pain! and I was able to get all my supplies - except the tomatoes - through Amazon) and was SO glad to have containers this big. I made a BIG batch of gazpacho the other week (Note: 8 quarts of gazpacho is a LOT to get through when there is only two of you.) They don't seem to hold on to odors at all.
